An Exhibition and Sale In history and literature, song and lore, the city of the world has touched so many lives. A city that awakens dreams and fosters hope remains forever vibrant in the memory of all who have experienced it. -Louis M. Salerno We invite viewers to consider the city around us from a new perspective—through the eyes of an artist. A range of paintings will be on display, each depicting a corner of the city. Theodore Robinson’s impressionistic Washington Monument posed before a row of tenement buildings, Alec Montroy’s pointillist city streets filled with gleaming billboards, and the skyscrapers of Guy C. Wiggins blurred by snowfall, these works capture the ever-changing nature of New York City from the 19th century to the 21st. Each depiction evokes a season of the city’s history through the stylistic choices of the artist.
