Note: The city of Deauville, in Normandy, France, was a particular site of inspiration for Hambourg. His paintings of Deauville were exhibited several times during his lifetime and afterward, including in the city itself. Today there is a museum in Deauville dedicated to the artist’s work, formed by a donation in 2011 from his wife Nicole Hambourg to the City of Deauville, which included over 500 oil paintings.
