Throughout his career, during the 1920s in particular, Hayley Lever painted in New England, spending time in locations such as Gloucester and Nantucket. New England House displays Lever’s command of the brush and facility in powerful, bold colors, the textured brushwork reminiscent of Vincent van Gogh’s technique.
