Note
Alfred Thompson Bricher was renowned for his depictions of the coastlines and lakes. He created numerous oil paintings featuring Lake George, showcasing the region’s natural beauty. Bricher visited Lake George in 1867, during which he produced several works centered on this iconic location. At the time, with the development of railroads, Lake George became a fashionable summer resort destination. Its diverse landscapes, including majestic mountains and dense forests attracted many artists besides Bricher, such as William Hart, David Johnson, Sanford Gifford, and others, who sought to capture its scenic splendor.
