Note
Hayley Lever was an Australian American Impressionist known for his vivid urban and maritime scenes. After training in London and working in Cornwall, he moved to New York City in 1911, where he captured the city’s rivers, bridges and harbors with energetic brushwork and luminous color. High Bridge reflects Lever’s sensitivity to atmosphere and structure, portraying a historic New York crossing in a moment of winter stillness.
