Note
Eric Sloane, entranced by the natural landscapes of America, spent much of his artistic career traveling across the country, articulating these landscapes in his writing, drawings, and paintings. Sloane was particularly drawn to New England in the fall, characterized by rich colors and architectural structures such as barns and covered bridges. In Cornwall Bridge, Connecticut, through vibrant, trodden foliage and crisp shadows, Sloane captures the spirit of the changing seasons and depicts a rural idyll.
