Note: Abraham Jacobi Bogdanove became well-known for his rocky coastline scenes, which often depict Monhegan Island, Maine. In Coastal Scene Bogdanove emphasizes the power of the ocean, placing the viewer at a low vantage point on the rocky foreground.
