Note
The inaugural work in Edmund Lewandowski’s Amish Farmscape series, this painting was likely created for his solo exhibition at the Sid Deutsch Gallery in New York City. Completed shortly after his retirement as Chairman of the Art Department at Winthrop University, it marks a significant turning point in his career. Inspired by a visit to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, the series reflects a renewed focus on artistic production following nearly three decades of academic service.
