Landscape painter Joseph Olaf Olson was born in Buffalo, Minnesota in 1894. He was a student of renowned realist painter George Bellows. Olson was a member of the American Watercolor Society and exhibited at the Whitney Museum of American Art, Art Institute of Chicago, and American Watercolor Society. He also participated in two annuals of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and two Corcoran Gallery of Art Biennials.
