Frank Harrison Miller

    A native of Fall River, Massachusetts, Frank Harrison Miller studied with Benjamin Champney, and later in Paris and under George Inness. His mentor, Robert Spear Dunning, was a co-founder of the successful Fall River Evening Drawing School, where Miller taught classes. Known for their masterful, trompe l’oeil still life paintings, the Fall River School included Dunning, John E. Grouard, and Bryant Chapin. American art historian William H. Gerdts referred to Miller as “the leading artist [of Fall River] after Dunning’s death.”
