Cynthia Norton Eckstrom

Artist Biography

Cynthia Norton Eckstrom, a talented illustrator and painter, studied at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Connecticut College, and the Rhode Island School of Design, where she received a BFA. She began her career as a freelance illustrator, but became deeply committed to the Connecticut art community. She served as president of the New Haven Paint & Clay Club, was on the board of the Shoreline Arts Alliance, and was an active member of the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts. Eckstrom taught for more than a decade at Paier College of Art as an associate professor of fine arts. She exhibited at such prestigious venues as the Salmagundi Club, Allied Artists of America, National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic, and Audubon Artists, and had four solo exhibitions during her lifetime.
