Art critic says Albert Bierstadt could hold his own against Claude Monet

Mona Molarsky, former reporter for Time and current correspondent for ARTnews, recently reviewed Questroyal’s 2011 Hudson River School exhibition, “An Untamed Nation.”  Molarsky reported that the show “highlighted the extent to which the Hudson River tradition was integral to the changing 19-century art movements” and favorably commented on featured works by Thomas Doughty, George Inness, Walter Launt Palmer, and Albert Bierstadt, whose “Sea and Sky” she said could “hold its own against a Monet.” Click here to download the complete exhibition review!
