Biography


Born in Holland, Arnould Wydeveld immigrated to the United States in 1853 and became a distinguished still-life and genre painter. Known for his fruit and floral still-lifes, Wydeveld endowed each object with a life-like texture and presence. His refined, elegant paintings were exhibited at the National Academy of Design, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and the Brooklyn Art Association.
